When I moved my light switch over to make room for the bookcase, I was left with an empty electrical box.

 

As long as there are no wires going into the box, I can cover it over.

 

So I purchased a patch kit with a 4x4 piece of steel centered in some adhesive mesh.

 

 

1.  (If wall is textured) sand 4x4 area flat to accept patch

 

 

2.  Press patch over hole

 

 

 

3.  Light layer of Wall Patching Compound, feathering into original wall

 

 

4.  Second layer of compound, feathered

 

 

5.  Paint with primer

 

 

6.  Paint with wall color (Not today, please… to be continued, okay ;) …)
